THE CHART IS UP TO DATE

PLEASE DO NOT JUST TURN UP
WITHOUT A RESERVATION. THANKS.

View availability for the next week on the available spaces chart below. We are checking & updating it every 10mins. If a time slot states CLOSED or is empty, we are prepared to open it subject to demand.

We are receiving a huge volume of bookings from our Gildenburgh & Dosthill Quarry swimmers, which we can only process by telephone, so please don’t call us on 01733 351288 unless you have a query, and definitely don’t email us. Thanks Ian & Pauline Forster

TOP 6 TIPS FOR YOUR VISIT TO GILDENBURGH WATER
DURING COVID-19

  1. During Covid-19 Gildenburgh Water is only open for diving, not for socialising. So please adhere to our ARRIVE DIVE DRIVE policy. Thank you.

2. Bring diving gloves with you to protect you from Covid-19 infection from our communal surfaces e.g. toilets and handrails.

3. Best SatNav postcode is PE7 2AR, Eastrea Road. Coming from the East our entrance, signposted Gildenburgh, is on the left just before the new Larkfleet roundabout. Coming from the West our entrance, signposted Dive In, is on the right just after the new Larkfleet roundabout. Single tank & twinset divers park in the East car parks. Sidemount divers & swimmers park in the West car parks. Freedivers park in the South car park for single or double 2-hour sessions, refreshment breaks between sessions, and meditation. Ensure you park at least 2 metres away from the nearest car.

4. Kit up & de-kit from the boot of your car because our changing rooms can’t open during Covid-19, so bring a dry robe, towel robe or dressing gown with you to ensure your personal privacy while changing.

5. ARRIVE 40 MINUTES BEFORE THE SCHEDULED START TIME OF YOUR 2-HOUR DIVE SESSION TO CHECK IN & PAY,  ATTEND THE ON-SITE COVID BRIEFING (IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE VIDEO DIVE BRIEFING BELOW), KIT UP & COMPLETE BUDDY CHECKS.

6. Click this link to watch the Covid Dive Video Briefing At Gildenburgh Water before you arrive to save time having to attend the on-site briefing.

Important Information
Before You Complete The Booking Form

During these Covid-19 restrictions, dive sessions will be limited to 2 hours to include 1 or more dives, surface interval & dive logging time, and air refills. Kit up & de-kit is to be undertaken from the boot of your car in the car park, but can be completed outside the 2 hour session.

2020 Prices for scuba divers are £15 per dive member per dive day, but during Covid you can enjoy a 2 hour dive session for only £12, or save £10 with a 5-dive pass for £50. 2020 Prices for freedivers are £7 per 2-hour session per dive day, or save £10 with a 10-dive pass for £60. Freedivers who prefer morning & afternoon sessions may book 2 separate 2-hour sessions at £7 per session, or use 2 swim pass sessions at £6 each. These passes have no expiry date, so can be carried over to next year if needed, but also reduce the number of times you have to call us to pay ahead or book each dive session - saving you a lot of time, including phone-queuing.

Until further government guidance is issued regarding the number of people from outside your household that you can meet up with, and to limit the number of divers to a level to ensure social distancing, diving at Gildenburgh Water will be for buddy pairs only, with no spectators (unless one of the divers is a junior, and their parent has driven them to the dive site)

To book a dive slot at Gildenburgh Water during these early phases of relaxation of Covid-19 lockdown, we only accept bookings from current Gildenburgh members. You will need to have your member number ready to make a booking. If your membership has expired, please renew it at http://www.gildenburgh.com/dive-gildy/membership-renewal/ before proceeding with the booking.

So during our BETA-Testing phase, old registrations are still valid, but if you are not sure, or your details have changed, please register at the above link before completing this form. There is no facility at Gildenburgh Water for registering on site.

Buddy Pair Agreement

Read the following paragraphs carefully.

This statement, which includes a Covid-19 Medical Declaration, a Statement of Risks and Liability, a Warning Statement, and a Covid-19 Recommended Behaviour At Gildenburgh Water, informs you of some potential risks involved in diving during the Covid-19 outbreak in the UK, and of the conduct required of you, while diving at Gildenburgh Water during this outbreak. If you are aged 17 or younger, your parent or guardian must read this and sign below.

Statement of Risk and Liability

This is a statement in which you are informed of the risks of diving at Gildenburgh Water during the Covid-19 outbreak. The statement also sets out the circumstances in which you participate at your own risk.

Your signature on this statement is required as proof that you have received and read this statement. It is important that you read the contents of this statement before signing it. If you do not understand anything contained in this statement, then please discuss it with Ian Forster, the owner of Gildenburgh Water on 01733 351288.

Warning

There can be a serious risk to your health if you contract coronavirus.

You can suffer from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS); mental health issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression; impaired lung function infection which can negatively affect other organs like the heart, kidneys, and brain; other significant long-term health issues that may last after getting over the infection.

Covid-19 Recommended Behaviour At Gildenburgh Water
During A Visit for diving

If you visit Gildenburgh Water to dive, you will need to adopt & cooperate with the following “Safe Seven” diving guidelines.

1. Stay at home if you, or someone you live with, have either a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or loss or change to your sense of smell or taste as per the symptoms above.

2. Check dive availability, call 01733 351288 to reserve your preferred date & time, and then book the 2 hour reserved dive session at http://gildenburgh.com/diveres/. One of the buddy team must book separately, in their own name, and must also state the name of their dive buddy. A diver who is being driven to Gildenburgh by a non-diving parent, must also state the name of that parent. This robust Covid-Secure policy provides us, and the authorities, with essential “track & trace” information in the event of a Covid-19 outbreak among our divers.
Pay by contactless card at Gildy reception when you arrive for a single dive session at £12 per diver OR a 5-dive session pass for £50 per diver.

3. Car share ONLY with Gildenburgh-registered divers in your household. Do not bring spectators or invite them to come separately.

4. Check this website’s home page at http://gildenburgh.com/ before every visit to stay updated with current fast-changing conditions, special arrangements, and last-minute dive availability.

5. Maintain a physical distance of 2 metres or more between your car boot and the boot of adjacent cars in the car park, so you can kit up & dekit before and after your dive from your car boot. The bank of the lake and the area around the entry points must be kept clear at all times. Maintain a physical distance of 2 metres or more between yourself, our staff & other non-household divers, at the surface, as well as on land. Waving to friends meets this recommendation, whereas handshakes, hugs or elbow bumps don’t. Pass others on the left while onsite.

6. Implement all recommended procedures of your training agency during briefings, equipment set up, kitting up, entries, exits, de-kitting and debriefing. Dive site staff reserve the right to monitor this, impose social distancing of divers, or ask you to leave the site.

7. Don your neoprene gloves before you touch the entry handrail or any other communal surfaces. Ensure you don’t touch your face with gloved hands after contact with communal surfaces. Do not touch your buddy’s equipment before, during or after buddy checks. During the dive, perform skills, drills & general diving procedures in line with the recommendations of your diver training agency.
